Ladywell Tavern refurb underway . . . or so it seems

Whilst there were signs today of refurbishment works underway (see photo above), there was no obvious evidence upstairs or downstairs of the squatting first suggested on the Brockley Central Blogspot in early August.

Perhaps the person/people who reside on the first floor were just putting in a bit of personal protection with the notices in the windows. One such person has told a local that end of October (or was it September?!) is the scheduled re-opening time. In the meantime, the Brockley Jack has been refurbished (very quickly), and the Jolly Farmers and Ravensbourne Arms are nearby pubs with, I'm told, more reasonable prices.

Comparing the view through the window the other day, with the view in the photograph: the scaffold tower has gone, so has the wheelbarrow, but I think the paint roller tray is still in the same place!
Apart from the opening-day rumour, there is one that that there will be a different manager. Wonder if the pub sign will change back to a more appropriate one.
