40 Ladywell Road to open as restaurant

As was, for c.20 years
For years 40 Ladywell Road - or 'Snack Bar' as it was always known (see photo right) - has been the rotten black tooth in the broad smile of Ladywell's revival.  Not for for much longer it seems.
The building has been refurbished from top to bottom with new roof, full paintjob and rear extension.
Let's hope this somehow incentivises other landowners to smarten up the still-shabby buildings - such as the upper floors of the DIY shop and a few of those opposite too.
The word on the street is that before long 40 Ladywell Road will reopen as an Indian 'fusion' restaurant - so something a little different perhaps.

Can't wait.

Great news that it is going to open, and a new restaurant will be a welcome addition to the High Street. But, if it does turn out to be Indian, hope the menu is not too similar to the Ladywell Tandoori and doesn't affect their business.

Disappointing that A they have put in double glazing not sashes in the upper storey - contrary to the planning permission I think, and B, so disappointing that another Indian.
