1. APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE
Apologies for absence were received from Robert Sheppard, Lara Alden and Eleanor Thompson.

2. MINUTES OF THE ORDINARY MEETING HELD ON 18 MARCH 2009
The Minutes were agreed as a correct record.

3. COMMUNITY PLANTING DAY – 16 MAY 2009
The first planting day went very well indeed. This was organised following the successful Localities Fund application earlier in the year. Attendance at around 20 green fingered people, other than LVIG members, was good boosted in no small way by the timely distribution of the newsletter and the feedback from the day was extremely positive.

Ideas to take forward to other planting events are:
• To keep up the good work and appearance of the planters a rota for watering and maintenance should be agreed - asap
• Laminated sign with LVIG logo and wording along the lines of ‘planted by the community’. We would hope this could be done quickly for the next planting day. Tony M to investigate doing this
• Watering cans for the shops nearest the planters to use, with LVIG logo

Thanks are due to Tony Rich who worked with both Lewisham Council and Envirowork who supplied the soil, planters and a team of 4 people to assist.

4. SECOND COMMUNITY PLANTING DAY
Originally mooted for 7 June. Meeting agreed to postpone it to 27 June to allow time for the next batch of planters to arrive and to allow time for the Council makeover (promised in the first instance for 16 May but failed to materialise) to be done. Eleanor has done sterling work organising posters and email notices and plant donations ahead of this.

5. LEWISHAM IN BLOOM COMPETITION
Decision taken to postpone the Ladywell entry to allow time for our planting to bed and look lovely

6. BIDS FOR MAYOR’S FUND
What do we have to do?
Essential that it ties in with Assembly priorities, many of which are broadly in line with LVIG’s. Ute Michel and Paul Gale will help write the bid. We need to work up the proposals with timelines and costings.
There is no limit to the number of submissions we can make.
We agreed to concentrate on two areas – streetscape and the Ladywell co-op Fruit and Veg shop plans

Update since meeting
At a meeting of the Ladywell Assembly Co-ordinating Group, 18 June it was decided to submit 4 bids to the Assembly. Three of them are youth projects the fourth is LVIG’s Streetscape and Design Action Plan for Ladywell. Tony Rich has written up the bid. Amount bid for is £10,000. The Fruit and Veg shop plan/bid has been reserved for future submission, probably at the September Assembly meeting. Both bids can be accessed on request.
Assembly, Tuesday 23 June – the LVIG bid was duly submitted and the Assembly voted to fund the Plan. More news on this to follow!

7. AGM – JULY 15
LVIG is one year old! As well as reviewing the past year the AGM is the time to elect the new Committee to take LVIG forward. We will be giving notice of the AGM and advising members on how to stand for Committee or vote regularly over the next few weeks via the July newsletter, emails, Ladywell blog, the forthcoming benefit gig and the usual station and local businesses postings
